To the Motherland...

I'm taking a journey with my good friend, Sameer Sampat, to India. What exactly this journey is going to entail... your guess is as good as mine. Our inner voices will be our guide. (along with our handy-dandy Lonely Planet)

My first posting - Pondering about India

Well, here I go... my first blog posting. Lately, I've been reading people's "blogs" and I've wanted to start my own for a while, and so... i'm finally doing it. I'm not really sure how often I'm going to be writing, or how detailed or anything of that sort, yet... but we'll see how it goes.

One of the main reasons I'm starting this is because this is probably the main way I'll be communicating with everyone while Sampat (seen on the right in a very alluring pose) and I are wandering aimlessly around India.

Wow.. India. I can't believe we're actually going to be doing it! I've been looking forward to this day for a LONG time. It's still not real to me because we haven't really started doing too much planning and stuff... but, still, it's exciting... and scary. There are soo many questions!

The plan right now is to travel for the first 6 months while we're out there. We'll probably end up stopping at different NGO's, ashrams, historical places, etc. I need to really just sit down and think about what my REAL purpose for the travels are. For now, I think it'll help me decide what I want to DO in India. I see myself having a long-term relationship with India.. but in what capacity, I'm not sure yet. Do I want to get involved with Indicorps? If so, how? Do I want to get involved with another social org.? What's my passion about India all about? And where does spirituality play a role? To begin with, it's the motivation for everything I do. But, why does it seem so lost from my day-to-day life? Will my travels lead me back to my spiritual fire?

Till next time...
